EduCat

We offer ‘real’ hands on training, exploring many environmental and nature based issues, we show ‘Natures perspective’.

EduCat workshops are renowned amongst Architecture and Landscape Design teams, Government officials, Teagasc trainees, Landscapers and gardeners. We also make occasional public appearances such as public talks organised by Co. Councils or NGO or Charity sectors.

EduCat is our Education Catalogue of talks, events, trade and public shows alongside when our farm & seed house open days are held.

Since 1987, We are still one of Ireland’s very first ‘barefoot’ educators focused on the need to save nature and protect our environment.

During European Year of the Environment 1897, Sandro (owner) was funded by Dublin V.E.C to lead 20 artists to represent ‘Environment’ where we produced environmental, nature and horticulture based slide shows for schools, at the time, it was the first ‘modern’ school environmental project in Ireland, leading to National awards for those schools we choose to create Ireland’s first schools wildlife gardens.

Cabinteely Girls schools became the countries leaders in Green schools directly from EduCat, and Arles NS (local) won the E.S.B national award with our design and products growing in the school.

So national and successful was this early start in environmental education, that The Department of Agriculture’s senior board and private secretariats requested the same training in 1992,  under the guise of Biodiversity. just in time for for the 1st Rio Earth Summit. That first meeting helped get funds to establish apple collections with Seed Savers and Genetic Resources Ireland. Funds for Trinity colleges genebank and much more.

EduCat went on to work for Ireland Inc’s international food brand for Bord Bia explaining ‘sustainable’ on the global scale.

Today we advise and train Architecture and Landscape Design teams, Government officials, Teagasc trainees, landscapers and gardeners as well as offering limited public appearances such as public talks organised by Co. Councils or NGO or Charity sectors.
