Open Days

Wildflower Growers Farm Open Days

Each summer, DBN invite professional and general gardening public alike to see, explore, learn and meet each other to discuss wildflower growing. The venue is usually one of our seed production farms. Every winter, wew hold a seed house open day usually in November, so customers and just about anyone can see our harvest as its been processed to extract seeds.

Our open days generally start at 10 am with a safety chat, brief intro’ and then we ask what your interest is, your profession if relevant and everyone who wants gets to speak and introduce themselves. From that early part of the day we then focus the information in the talk, demos & farm or seed house tour/walk. We answer hard questions and are here to specifically advise those who attend and bring photos of projects they need help with.

Some days, we get designers, ecologists and landscapers and lots of them, on other days a healthy mix of public and professional arrive, often too, head gardeners and their staff arrive or entire teams from firms like Shannon airport, Cluid, or Sap landscapes.  Teagasc and our competitors have also attended, EduCat our education service has delivered outreach workshops in research stations, universities and botanical gardens over the years, these days we invite our customer to visit us.

Our Wildflower Growers, Farm Open Day will bring you close up to the reality of growing flora, hands on touching, smelling photographing and learning all with good craic and a toss of salt.
