Leading Ireland’s great tradition in horticulture
At Design by Nature, we are plant conservationists, selling seed to fund our mission of direct action to save species.
The new Wildflowers.ie website showcases our long history as a horticultural firm under the ownership of Sandro Cafolla trading as Design By Nature (Ire)
Since the last century, DBN have lead and still remain market leaders in the great tradition of Irish horticulture. We have saved many endangered species from extinction and got many more plants some respect for their value in the landscape. After all, way back in 1987, we were the very first to publish ‘The Cornflower Response’ to save and Utilise wild endangered plants to fund donor sites to ensure ‘living genebanks’ of wild meadows and other plant collections or ecosystems
The new web supports ‘The Age of Nature’ concept which we promote along side our products. The profits raised from Wildflowers.ie goes towards growing species which have no economic, food or herbal value. They are forgotten, Hence Imithe, the disappeared, another low key activity we carry out
Imithe is where grow endangered species in living genebanks, we propagate and multiply, post free of charge, to professional craft gardeners in gardens and parks open to the public to be planted along side tulips and bedding plants using the same budget,
